The act of merging and acquiring companies is widely associated with the business world. This is where quite some of businesses depend on to achieve success in their business. It is one strategy of businessmen to prosper in buying, selling, dividing and merging different companies. But there is a common misconception about these two terms.

Acquisition is literally from the root word acquire or this is the process of buying one company or business by another business. This is when one company is combined with another company to form a new project; void of independence and are completely dependent of each other. It usually refers to buying of a smaller company by a bigger one. According to research, it’s divided into two categories which are called public and private acquisitions depending on whether it’s listed on public stock market.

Merging, on the other hand, is actually when two companies unite to operate and decide as one company. It’s like two entities given an equal power for the benefit of the entire company. It’s also called as such when both Chief Executive Officers of the two companies decide to join firms for the greater good of both companies.

Acquiring may also begin by even just buying mini diggers for sale that’s posted on line. Again, it’s acquiring when one larger firm wants to acquire another firm to expand business and it’s merging when both companies share an equal power and opportunity to decide for the entirety of both companies.

As a whole, there is a lot more of complex process involved in this process and it takes great business skills to make this one big leap a success.
